Feedback for first draft of trailer

The over all feedback is quite positive and everyones reactions seemed to be quite positive. All of the feedback shwos that the audience knew what genre the trailer was and also what the basic story of the film was, which was a girl being posted dvds of recordings of her and him basically intruding in her life through stalking her. I'm very pleased with this result because it shows that we have achieved the codes and conventions of our chosen genre of Thriller/horror and edited the shots well enough so that the audience knows the rough story of the trailer.

Things that people liked most was the phone call, (which was created by recording me and issy faking an emergency services phone call throguh speakerphone and putting it onto the hard drive and adding it as music), they also liked the text imbetween shots such as "what would you do" and " if someone was recording your every move" ect. I am pleased with this because I think the language and effects for these texts are really effective as it complies with the conventions of a thriller especially as it flickers which gives a dark and disorientating effect.

Most of the feedback said to improve the length that the text is up for because some people found it hard to read. Furthermore, the breathing at the end was quite unrealistic and needs to be toned down and changed which is a reaosnable feedback because I agree. Lastly another thing that needs to be changed is the scream at the end due to most feedback sheets saying that it sounded quite unrealistic therefore maybe if we recorded the scream ourselves it will sound better and more realistic.

Role this week

This week we will be embedding our trailer into the website using the program Macromedia Dreamweaver. After doing this our group will also me going to the mews on the wednesday 21st March to continue editing our trailer using the feedback that we gained from the year 12's and the rest of the media class

Website final draft with new picture

This is another website that I have created but this time I added two different pictures and faded them in with eachother. I did this because some of the feedback I recieved from my first website said the picture was quite plain therefore I have created this one. I need to get further feedback to decide which website to use however this is another possible choice of website.

Final draft of website

This is my final draft of my website. I have chosen to take in the feedback that was given to me and moved the billing box to the left hand side and the social media icons and have also moved the tagline at the top underneath the title. I have also made the tagline smaller because it was taking away the importance of the title being so big. The date line was also added and now i think the website looks very conventional and more professional however, on reflection i still think the website looks a little plain.

Preparing Feedback Questionnaires

This week we are showing our finished first cut of our trailer to the year 12 media class and the rest out our media class. This is so we can gain good feedback and know what to improve on and what the audience really liked about the trailer. In order to gain this information I have created a quesstionnaire for everyone to answer while watching the trailer.

1st draft of website

This is my first draft of my website. I have chosen to use the same picture as my poster to make the website more conventional and make the film flow together. As this is only my first draft there is still much to improve and therefore I will be able to gain feedback and improve the website.

Role for this week...

This week:
We are in the mews this week working on the editing for the current shots that we have filmed. Another filming session has taken place in which we filmed the shots of Ella recieving the anonymous DVDs and this was all taken inside the house. Furthermore, With that filming and the rest of the filming we will log everything we have so far on the computer for the sessions on 8th March and 9th March in the mews where I will be alone editing as Issy and Rosie have lessons and art exams.

Final draft of poster

I have darkend the edges of the "coming soon" and I changed the " you can't run" tagline to bold however I felt it didn't look good because it took away the impact of the intrude. After further feedback on how the bold tagline looked a student name Bellaray Betrand Webb said "don't do it bold cuz its like a whisper". Therefore I have kept it plain.

Tuesday 6 March 2012

These are some pictures of filming done in the last session, these shots were the fast shots we wanted of Ella running and the shots of Charlie following Ella to her house and just standing outside. The session was quite suuccessful and all the shots planend for that day got done.

Photos for poster

As you can see this photo isn't done very well and therefore I will not be using it because the models face doesnt look professional. However, this is the kind of close up shot I wanted of the main character.

This picture I quite like because it is a medium close up shot of the main character trapped behind bars with no expression on her face which gives a kind of creepy feel because of her paleness. I liked the idea of putting the character behind bars because it reflects the idea that she is being tormented and trapped in the trailer because someone is following her who she cannot escape from. The lighting is quite good in this picture and it was done with a flash because it was dark outside and without the flash you couldn't see anything.

This is one of my favourite pictures that I think works best because it is a close up shot of the characters face. It reveals a better expression on her face and the close up really emphasises her emotions.

I wanted to make the front door of the main house the picutre for the poster however, i dont think it looks good because it doesn't look spooky enough. The lighting didn't work out too well either and therefore I won't use this picutre.

I like the mis en scene in this picture because it is in an alley way which conforms with the genre of a thriller / horror and therefore looks scary. There are also some shadows which make the picutre look good aswell. I chose to do a long shot because I wanted to show the whole body of the main character and her position is very still and stiff which gives the impression of fear. The only downside to this picuture is that the character is quite far away and therefore cannot see her face.

Justifications:

I decided to not use all of the images i planned to take in the photoshoot plan orginally and just used Ella (the main character) as the main person in the poster photo. I decided to do this because as she is the main person I wanted the attention to be on her and the audience to arouse questions such as who is she and associate the main character with the title "intrude". Furthermore, when we were filming we came across these railings which I though would be a really good location to take the picture because ella would be behind the railing implying a sense of being trapped.
